Objectives, expected results
The EU funded project 'Reinforcing the Protection of Rights and Improving the Living Conditions of the Disabled People in Azerbaijan through Civil Society – Media – Government – and Private Sector Collaboration' aims to strength the role of Civil Society Organizations for provide legal consultation to disabled people, and increasing cooperation among CSOs, Media, government and private sector to promote public participation in the protection of the disabled people’s rights and in improving their living conditions.
The two year project, also expected to build capacities of the CSOs, Media and government entities through trainings, to develop legal consciousness of disabled people and their families, to strengthen the cooperation among the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, CSOs, disabled people and relevant regional government entities, to start a campaign to eliminate negative societal stereotypes about disabled people and produce policy-oriented information.
The project targets disabled people and families, non-governmental organizations, related government authorities and municipalities in the Western rayons of Azerbajan, namely: Ganja, Goranboy, Shamkir, Goy-gol and Samukh.
By organising Capacity Building Trainings for increasing legal awareness, establishing a call center, Creating Open Source Website and constantly updated facebook page, producing, TV shows on social issues and Informational Youtube videos, preparation and publication policy papers, Center for Economic and Social Development aims to improve the protection of the living standarts of the disabled people.
Within the project, all regional activities are coordinated and supervised by CESD, and implemented by the Ganja Children Fund.
